This command is only available when you lead up a party. When in that position you can use this command to set or clear the party's desc text. This is very similar to the player text option DESC. Whenever a party disbands entirely, that is the leader no longer has followers, then the party desc text is cleared.

Examples :

:pdesc -d
party description cleared

:pdesc The fellowship of the ring
Party description set.
