The Ranger

History
The Rangers are more or less a guild in these times, and really nothing much has changed in many, many years. Rangers operate more as a loose confederation rather than the tight-knit operations other guilds offer. So vague in fact are rangers in these matters that no record or memory of how the guild started exists. As far as they are concerned it is there and its always been there, and probably always will be.

The rangers traditionally have sided with druids more than any other group. Both being close to the land they have many similarities. Rangers tend to be  more curious than druids and spend most of their lives following some form of wander-lust. Sayings such as  'where-ever you go, you tread in a rangers footsteps' are common. In wars individuals have shone as masters of arms, but on the whole the rangers take a quieter route through life than most. Having said that when something threatens the life of the land they tend to be at the front with druids fighting against it.

Attributes
Rangers are reasonable fighters and a little better than most fighting classes as magic. They are perhaps a little better than clerics at actual combat but do have one additional ability to tip things in their favour. They can hasten which improves their dexterity and allows them to strike more quickly and more often. This speeding up can quite often allow them victories others would be hard pressed to achieve. They are the best at searching and tracking. They can find, if they exists tracks leading from one place to another. They can also use a tracking ability to find other people, the ability takes them to wherever the person they are tracking is, very useful.
